Why should we protect the bees?

Did you know that bees help to pollinate 90% of the world’s plants and trees by collecting nectar from flowers and transporting pollen? In fact, without bees, biodiversity would be in grave danger. Through the immersive exhibits at the Miellerie interpretation centre, you can explore the life of these pollinators and learn more about their important role. During your visit, you’ll also learn what you can do to help protect bees, such as planting honey flowers or letting your dandelions grow for as long as possible.

Guided tours for all ages

The site offers two types of guided tours, so you can learn everything there is to know about bees. The morning tours are geared toward kids ages two to seven. After watching a cartoon about the world of Abbie the Bee, families can observe a glass-fronted hive with a magnifying glass and immerse themselves in the Giant Hive. The afternoon tours are open to the general public and start with a 15-minute film on the many talents of bees. Of course, all guided tours end with a sweet activity that everyone looks forward to: honey tasting!

Many more activities

After visiting the honey house, why not enjoy a picnic outdoors and take in the stunning scenery? Kids can also let their imaginations run wild and have a blast on the playground. For even more fun, why not visit the adorable chickens and three alpacas, Fripon, Paco and Maxou? Before leaving, don’t forget to check out the “Nectarium” Boutique, where you’ll find a selection of 100% pure honey, made from the nectar of different flowers harvested by bees, and all kinds of products from the hive.
