Explore the Via Ferrata trail on Mont-du-Lac-des-Cygnes

In the very heart of Parc national des Grands-Jardins, thrill seekers can trek the Via Ferrata on Mont-du-lac-des-Cygnes, a mixed trail blending hiking and climbing. Equipped with a safety harness and accompanied by a certified guide, make your ascent along a rock wall on one of two suggested routes: La Montée or La Traversée. Your efforts will be rewarded with a spectacular view of the region's peaks, Gros-Bras Valley and the St. Lawrence River.

Visit the Charlevoix Emu Centre

At the foot of the mountains, in the village of Saint-Urbain, the Charlevoix Emu Centre specializes in raising, transforming, and showcasing the emu, an exotic bird originating from Australia. In addition to its emu farm, where visitors can see emus up close in their outdoor habitat, the centre houses the Économusée, a museum that teaches visitors about the unique set of skills used to transform the oil of emu fat. Don't miss the chance to enjoy emu meat at the bistro and the opportunity to sample beauty products derived from the emu at the boutique.

Get out on the water on a river cruise at the heart of one of Quebec's national parks

Chart a course among the rock walls of Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie on a river cruise showing passengers a landscape of towering beauty. The rock walls there are among the tallest in Eastern Canada. On board the Menaud, a naturalist park warden will share their passion for history, flora and fauna, and the geological attributes of this little slice of paradise. The river crossing lasts approximately one hour, and creates a moment of calm, tranquillity and serenity in the very heart of a breathtaking natural environment.
