Play outside in Parc régional des Grandes-Coulées

A must-visit outdoor destination in the area, the Old Forest section of this regional park boasts ten kilometres of forest paths near the majestic Noire River. The paths have just a slight change in elevation, so families, people with reduced mobility and your four-legged friends can easily enjoy them. In addition to hikes, the park offers plenty of fun activities for visitors young and old, from trout fishing to educational interpretation of flora and fauna, to a treetop obstacle course.

Explore storybook landscapes on two wheels

The L’Érable region is known for bike paths that travel through its rural villages, historic routes and lovely landscapes. Eight bike paths offer both seasoned cyclists and novice riders a way to discover the area. Designed over an old railway track, the Parc linéaire des Bois-Francs trail is easy, whereas the Routes des Érables trails, travelling through plains and in the Appalachian foothills, are suitable for intermediate cyclists. Those cyclists who undertake the four-day regional circuit at the advanced level are rewarded by the beauty of its rural landscapes.

Touch real bronze up close in Quebec’s artistic foundry capital

Did you know that the municipality of Inverness is Quebec’s artistic foundry capital? The city is unique because it sits on land rich in bronze, which contributed to the establishment of the province’s bronze art industry. You’re invited to see for yourself – and touch the art – at the Inverness bronze museum and at its artistic foundry interpretation centre, as well as in the city’s open-air gallery. The bike circuit gives you a chance to admire works sculpted by professional artists while discovering the fascinating universe of this discipline.
