First stop: a cozy nest for a change of scenery

Combine lodging, relaxation and fine dining with a stay at La Grange aux Hiboux in La Baie. Boasting four private rooms with a rustic feel, this charming B&B also features a communal lounge area, ideal for relaxing or chatting with fellow guests. Most of the windows, as well as the outside balcony, offer a breathtaking view of the Baie des Ha! Ha! in the fall. The bistro-style restaurant, which also boasts a view of the bay, welcomes you in a country-style setting that will seduce you as much as its creative cuisine with local flavours and its vast selection of wines and craft beers.

Next stop: exceptional cheeses to savour

Since 1890, Fromagerie Perron — the oldest cheese factory in Quebec — has been the pride of the region, producing cheeses of remarkable quality. Located in Saint-Prime, these world-renowned cheesemakers offer renowned aged cheddars, refined Swiss cheeses and cheddar made fresh daily, all carefully crafted. Be sure to stop by the Chez Perron restaurant-and-shop, where you can sample cheesy delights in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Last stop: a huge park by the lake

Do you dream of nature, the great outdoors and a change of scenery? You're sure to fall under the spell of Parc national de la Pointe-Taillon, where vast beaches of fine golden sand will dazzle you. This national park provides special access to Lac Saint-Jean and the Péribonka River, where you can discover spectacular scenery on foot, by sea kayak or on a bicycle. In fact, the famous Véloroute des Bleuets bike path runs for 15 km through this park, making it one of the most beautiful stretches of the bike path. Keep your eyes peeled while you’re there, since this superb park is home to birds, beavers and moose!
